Buying clothes and shoes online without returns

This guide helps you understand which criteria to compare before you buy a product. We do not claim to have tested any product, and the guide contains no price or stock information.

Checklist

  1. Measure chest, waist, hips and inside leg with a tape and compare them to the brand’s own size chart.
  2. Remember that sizes differ between brands and countries (US, UK, EU).
  3. Read reviews that mention fit: "runs small" or "runs large" is the most useful comment.
  4. Check the fabric composition and care label — natural fibres breathe, blends keep their shape.
  5. For shoes, measure your foot length in the evening and compare it in centimetres.
  6. Check who pays for returns and how many days you have, especially for international orders.
  7. Compare the final price including shipping, duties and VAT before you pay.

Before you head to the store

Confirm the exact model number, whether it can be delivered to your address, the final total price, shipping costs, the return period and the seller's reliability directly with the store. For cross-border purchases, taxes, customs and warranty terms may differ.
