Choosing food for your dog or cat

This guide helps you understand which criteria to compare before you buy a product. We do not claim to have tested any product, and the guide contains no price or stock information.

Checklist

  1. Choose a food made for your pet’s life stage: puppy/kitten, adult or senior.
  2. Look for a "complete" food that meets AAFCO or FEDIAF nutritional standards.
  3. Read the first ingredients — a named animal protein should come first.
  4. Use the feeding guide by weight and adjust it to your pet’s activity and body condition.
  5. Switch food gradually over 7–10 days to avoid stomach upset.
  6. Ask your vet before choosing grain-free or special diets.
  7. Compare price per kilogram and subscription discounts for large bags.

Before you head to the store

Confirm the exact model number, whether it can be delivered to your address, the final total price, shipping costs, the return period and the seller's reliability directly with the store. For cross-border purchases, taxes, customs and warranty terms may differ.
