Choosing skincare products for your skin type
This guide helps you understand which criteria to compare before you buy a product. We do not claim to have tested any product, and the guide contains no price or stock information.
Checklist
- Identify your skin type (dry, oily, combination, sensitive) before choosing a product.
- Read the full ingredient list (INCI), not only the marketing claims on the front.
- Introduce one new active ingredient at a time, such as retinol, vitamin C or acids.
- Patch test new products on a small area for 24–48 hours.
- Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen every day, especially with exfoliating acids or retinoids.
- Check the period-after-opening symbol (for example 12M) and the expiry date.
- See a dermatologist for persistent problems instead of relying on products alone.
Before you head to the store
Confirm the exact model number, whether it can be delivered to your address, the final total price, shipping costs, the return period and the seller's reliability directly with the store. For cross-border purchases, taxes, customs and warranty terms may differ.
