Choosing a pram or stroller

This guide helps you understand which criteria to compare before you buy a product. We do not claim to have tested any product, and the guide contains no price or stock information.

Checklist

  1. Decide between a full travel system, a pram with carrycot or a lightweight buggy based on your baby’s age.
  2. Check that it meets the safety standard for your region (EN 1888 in Europe, ASTM F833 in the US).
  3. Fold it in the store video or at home and measure it against your car boot.
  4. Check the weight you will be lifting onto buses, stairs and into the car.
  5. Look at the seat recline, harness, brakes and wheel suspension for your usual terrain.
  6. Check which car seats fit with adapters if you want a travel system.
  7. Compare the warranty and the availability of spare parts such as wheels and rain covers.

Before you head to the store

Confirm the exact model number, whether it can be delivered to your address, the final total price, shipping costs, the return period and the seller's reliability directly with the store. For cross-border purchases, taxes, customs and warranty terms may differ.
